Set in Brentwood, Tennessee, this project reimagines the kitchen, living room, and mudroom of a Victorian home with a design by A House Collective. The renovation opened up the back side of the kitchen to add a scullery and pantry, giving the home the working space a family kitchen needs while keeping the period character that drew the homeowners to it in the first place.
Custom Cabinetry – Beaded inset cabinets were built throughout, with cabinet panels applied to the appliances so the millwork reads as continuous, furniture-grade casework rather than a lineup of hardware. Aged brass pulls and bin latches carry the detail across every run.
Kitchen Island – A white oak island anchors the room, topped in quartz with a farm sink and a quartz drip edge — a detail that finishes the sink surround in the same stone rather than breaking the line.
Appliances – A full Fisher & Paykel package, including a professional range set beneath a custom hood with a brass gallery rail.
Scullery & Pantry – Added to the back side of the kitchen, the scullery keeps prep and cleanup out of sight, with a second sink, generous drawer storage, and a slab backsplash that matches the main kitchen.
Custom Pantry Door – A white oak pantry door with flemished glass. The rippled glazing lets light pass between the rooms while keeping the pantry shelves softly obscured.
Mudroom Storage – Floor-to-ceiling cabinets line the mudroom, providing enough closed storage for a busy household, with an open bench nook and a peg rail for everyday drop-off.
Mudroom Entry – Travertine laid in a herringbone pattern grounds the entry with a durable, softly patterned floor that stands up to boots and weather.
