about Project

This Franklin, Tennessee project was a full interior renovation, touching every room in the house. Beyond the finishes, the scope reworked how the home functions: an existing bedroom was converted into a bathroom connected to the in-law master suite, and the laundry room was relocated upstairs to sit closer to where it's actually used.

Flooring – White oak hardwood, sanded and finished on site, runs throughout the home for a continuous, seamless floor from room to room.

Kitchen – Custom inset cabinets are topped with Taj Mahal quartzite, a warm-toned stone that reads softer than a bright white marble. A painted island anchors the space against the lighter perimeter cabinetry, and a handmade-look glazed tile backsplash carries up the range wall.

Pantry – A double pocket door pantry with custom cabinets, so the doors disappear into the wall rather than eating into the kitchen's walking space.

Bathrooms – Custom inset cabinetry throughout, with tiled walk-in showers and frameless glass doors that keep sight lines open and the tile work on full display. In the primary suite, a freestanding tub sits beneath a picture window, paired with a fluted double vanity and arched mirrors.

Lighting – Visual Comfort fixtures selected room by room, from sculptural flush mounts in the bedrooms to industrial-style pendants over the kitchen island.

Hardware – Unlacquered brass hardware, chosen to patina naturally over time rather than hold a fixed finish.

Wallpaper – Wallpaper was used as a deliberate counterpoint to the home's quieter rooms: a bold botanical in the powder room, a tonal stripe in the primary bedroom, and a subtle textured print in the dining room.

Laundry Room – Relocated upstairs and finished with vertical paneling, a folding counter above the machines, open shelving, and a hanging rod.

Home Office – Built-in desk, upper cabinets, and open shelving, with the millwork and walls painted the same soft green so the casework reads as part of the architecture.
